As of January 2026, Medica Pathologie and the Pathologie Institut Enge, including the Institut für Dermatohistopathologie branch, have merged to form a joint entity under the name “Pathologie Medica Enge” at the existing site in Zurich.
What does this mean for you as a client?
The merger brings together our technical expertise, many years of experience and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Our aim is to continue to offer you high diagnostic quality and reliable, personal service in the future.
By consolidating our resources, you benefit from:
- Expanded technical expertise: An expanded team of experienced specialists is available to answer all diagnostic questions.
- Optimised processes: The merger enables even more efficient processing of your samples, with the same short turnaround times.
- State-of-the-art technology: We make targeted investments in innovative digital and molecular pathology methods in order to further increase diagnostic precision.
- Assured quality: With the requested consolidation of our accreditations, we are reaffirming our commitment to the highest quality standards.
- Continuity and reliability: Your current contacts will remain at your disposal. At the same time, we are expanding our network of specialists to provide you with even better support in complex cases.
- Future-proof structures: By combining our efforts, we ensure that we will remain a strong and reliable partner for you in the long term, despite the changing general conditions in the Swiss healthcare system, such the introduction of TARDOC and outpatient flat rates.
Changes in the course of the merger
As part of the organisational and technical merger, there may be some changes in the coming months, and we will keep you informed of these in good time.
These include, in particular:
- New look: Starting January 2026, we will have a revamped visual identity, including a new logo and an updated layout for all communication channels, forms and reports.
- New contact details: From the effective date, all enquiries, findings and samples will be handled by the joint “Pathologie Medica Enge” entity.
- Main telephone number Pathology: 044 269 99 88
- Main e-mail address Pathology: info@patho.ch
During the transition period, the previous contact addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses will remain valid in order to ensure smooth communication.
- Sample identification and numbering: The sample names and case numbers will be standardised (B and I to H and C to K; the rest of the numbering will remain unchanged).
- Shipping bags and transport materials: The current shipping bags and transport packaging can be used unchanged until further notice. If new shipping materials with the new logo are introduced in the future, you will receive them automatically with your next order.
- IT and report delivery: Existing digital interfaces, such as electronic orders (order entry) and results reporting, will remain unchanged. Any technical changes will be coordinated with you individually.
- Consumable orders: Practice materials (forms, sample containers, shipping bags, etc.) can be ordered as usual via your online shop. There are two ways to do this:
- Medica Ärztebedarf (webshop.medica.ch) or by e-mail to info@medica-aerztebedarf.ch. If you do not yet have a login for the online shop, please contact medica Ärztebedarf directly to set up a customer account. If you have any questions or need more information, medica Ärztebedarf can be reached by phone on 044 269 99 66.
- Medilab (medilab.ch): If you work with the Toggweiler, Bioanalytica or MCL laboratories and therefore have access to Medilab, you are welcome to order the material from the Medilab shop. If you do not have access to the materials, please contact your personal sales representative.
We thank you for the trust placed in us and look forward to continuing our successful collaboration.
